Resolutions

A resolution is a formal statement adopted by Democrats to express shared values, support a policy or action, or call on leaders to take a specific step.

Resolutions usually lay out the reasoning (“WHEREAS” clauses) and then states what Democrats believe or want done (“RESOLVED” clauses). Resolutions can start at the precinct or county level and move up through district and state conventions as part of the party’s grassroots decision-making process.

At convention, delegates will vote on all resolutions put forth by the Resolutions Committee.

Party Officers & SEC* Members

In 2025, we elected BCDP Officers and SEC Members who will serve a two-year term through March of 2027.

*The North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) State Executive Committee (SEC) is the governing body of the state party, responsible for setting party policy, amending the Plan of Organization, electing party officers, and approving affiliated organizations. It meets periodically to guide statewide strategy, manage party business, and pass resolutions.
