Elect judges who value your freedoms.

The 2024 elections underscored just how critical our judicial races truly are. Republican Jefferson Griffin tried to silence 67,000 voters and steal a seat on the Supreme Court. Thanks to a unified and determined effort by Democrats, that attempt was stopped. But this is only the beginning—the fight starts now! We encourage you to connect with five (or more) members of your community and let them know how serious this issue is.

JUDICIAL COORDINATED CAMPAIGN

We have an opportunity to defend democracy in North Carolina.

North Carolina Democrats have a long-term plan to flip our Supreme Court blue by 2028, before the next round of scheduled redistricting.

To achieve this, we created the NCDP Judicial Caucus, a groundbreaking program dedicated exclusively to electing Democratic judges. A joint fund supporting the Judicial Caucus allows the Party to convey its own messages about why our courts matter AND is the only way to implement a long-range plan.

Our state courts determine our ability to protect fundamental human rights, to guarantee that children receive a sound basic education, and to decide whether extremely gerrymandered districts will prevent us from taking back our legislature.

Right-wing extremists have taken over the Court.

In 2022, Republicans flipped our state Supreme Court from a 4-3 Democratic majority to a 5-2 Republican majority. In 2023 alone, the Court:

  • re-heard and overturned a recent ruling against extreme partisan gerrymandering, allowing our Republican-led legislature to redraw our maps. As a direct result, North Carolina lost three Democratic seats in the U.S. Congress in November 2024, costing Rep. Hakeem Jeffries the Speaker’s gavel.

  • allowed the legislature to enact strict voter ID laws and limit voting rights.

THE PLAN

STEP 1:

Last year, we defended Justice Allison Riggs, the youngest woman ever to serve on the Court and a crucial voice for democracy. The National Democratic Redistricting Committee, led by Chairman

Eric H. Holder, Jr., identified Justice Riggs’ Supreme Court race as a top priority in the national fight for fair maps.

STEP 2:

Looking ahead to 2026, we will vigorously defend the seat of Justice Anita Earls, a longtime champion for voting rights and the sole Black woman serving on the Court. If we don’t, our path to victory is jeopardized.

STEP 3:

And in 2028, North Carolina voters will have the opportunity to flip three GOP seats and win a majority on the Supreme Court, providing a critical firewall against an extreme right-wing legislature.

Help us stand up for freedom and justice for all.
