What is a Precinct?

A precinct is your local building block of the Democratic Party—based on the polling place where you vote on Election Day. In NC, precincts are where grassroots democracy begins.

From here, neighbors work together to elect party leaders, shape the Democratic platform, and make decisions that ripple up to the county, state, and national level. Precincts recruit poll workers, organize volunteers, and make sure local voices are heard in the party’s work and priorities.
