Black Mountain Dems Read--book club

  • Peri Social House 406 West State Street Black Mountain, NC, 28711 United States (map)

Each month we discuss a book the group has agreed upon at the previous meeting.

In August, we will discuss Dirt Road Revival: How to Rebuild Rural Politics and Why Our Future Depends on It, by Chloe Maxmin and Canyon Woodward (200 pp., Beacon Press; ISBN 9780807007518). The book lays out a "new long-term vision for Democrats to rebuild trust and win campaigns in rural America by translating progressive values to a rural context."

Who should attend: Anyone who wants to read and discuss books of interest with fellow left-leaning readers. Even if you haven't read the book, come anyway for a lively, wide-ranging discussion. We meet the 3rd Friday of each month.

There are a few copies of the book in the Buncombe County library system, and you can find inexpensive used copies at bookfinder.com. Order new from Sassafras on Sutton or bookshop.org.
