Each month we discuss a book agreed upon at the previous meeting. The selection for August is "Politics Without Politicians: The Case for Citizen Rule," written by Yale University professor Helene Landemore. In the book Landemore argues that electoral politics is broken but democracy isn't and "with sharp analysis and real-world examples...shows us how to move beyond democracy as a spectator sport, embracing it as a shared practice..."
