We know that a significant number of Democrats failed to show up and vote in the critical 2024 election. We know that a significant number of young people don’t see either party as worth aligning with, and are more attuned to issues impacting them and who is addressing those issues. Additionally, there are a huge number of unaffiliated voters in North Carolina and Buncombe County whose support we could use in 2026.

Theo Nollert from Carolina Forward, Brendan Hipps, president of Buncombe County Young Dems, and Marcus Blankenship, potential House of Representatives candidate, all offer their thoughts and concrete ideas for how we can bring back the Democrats who didn’t vote in the last election and engage the young people and unaffiliated voters we need to defeat the Republicans in 2026.
