Each month we discuss a book the group has agreed upon at the previous meeting. In June, we will be discussing "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis.

In this 1935 satirical novel, a vain, outlandish, anti-immigrant, fearmongering demagogue runs for President of the United States. He becomes a dictator to "save the nation" from welfare cheats, sex, crime, and a liberal press. A few copies are available at Sassafras on Sutton bookstore.

Who should attend: Anyone who wants to read and discuss books of interest with left-leaning readers. We meet the 3rd Friday of each month.
