April Judicial Speaker Series & Meeting

  • Leicester Public Library (also online) 1561 Alexander Road Leicester, NC, 28748 United States (map)

Join us for an evening focused on understanding the stakes, the structure, and the strategy behind North Carolina’s judicial races. Featuring Jean Marie Christy and Smitty Dotson-Smith, this speaker series will break down why these roles matter, how judicial elections work, and what’s on the line for our communities. We’ll also hear from Becca Zerkin of the North Carolina Democratic Party via video on why this year’s state-level judicial races are some of the most important on the ballot for Democrats.

These aren’t abstract positions — they shape real outcomes in our daily lives. This event will help you better understand the judges we need to be talking about with friends and neighbors, and why these races deserve our attention right now.

We’ll wrap up with a short meeting focused on what comes next — upcoming events, opportunities to plug in, and how to stay engaged locally.

Who should attend: Any local left-leaning unaffiliated voters and Democrats.

Attend virtually: This event can also be viewed over Zoom. Sign up to receive the Zoom link.
