Biden Administration Working to Protect Our Climate (BCDP Weekly)

The U.S. is positioned to achieve our ambitious climate goals of cutting our emissions in half by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050. The President has taken executive action and signed legislation to develop clean energy at home, accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, and reduce pollution that endangers overburdened communities.

The President is lowering energy costs for families, creating good paying jobs, and ensuring America leads the global clean energy economy. The President also protected more lands and waters in his first year than any President since John F. Kennedy.

The US 11th Congressional District met on Saturday, April 20th. After a rousing keynote by our Candidate for Lt. Governor, Sen. Rachel Hunt, and an energizing speech by Congressional Candidate Caleb Rudow, business included an election for Delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

We are delighted to announce that three Buncombe County residents: Kathie Kline, Kristen Robinson, and Tom Sullivan, were elected as DNC Delegates. In addition, WNC will be represented by Diane Snyder of Cherokee County and Jesse Ross of Haywood County.

Congratulations to all D11 elected delegates -- we know you will work hard and represent WNC very well.
