You can register to vote by filling out a Voter Registration Form and delivering or mailing the form to your local Board of Elections Office. We have plenty of forms at the Buncombe County Democratic Headquarters, so come see us!

Also, you may complete the registration online, print, and mail in your completed form.

Step 1: Complete the registration form PDF online.
Step 2: Print the registration form on your personal printer.  Your personal information will not be saved once you close the form.
Step 3: Once printed, sign and date the form and mail it to: Election Services, PO BOX 7468, ASHEVILLE, NC 28802-7468

Instructions on absentee voting can be found here:

The deadline to register to vote in North Carolina is 25 days before the day of an election. County Boards of Elections must receive voter registration applications by this date. If an applicant mails the form, the mailing must be postmarked by the deadline in order to be deemed timely for an upcoming election.

Eligible individuals may register and vote during the one-stop early voting period from October 20 through November 5, 2016.

Voters who appear on Election Day in the correct county but in the improper precinct may cast a provisional ballot, which will be counted for all contests in which the voter was eligible to participate.  Click here to locate your assigned precinct polling location.
